This painting in progress of a lioness in the foreground basking in the sun of a typical African landscape will be the first in a series of wildlife paintings that I'll be painting in the coming months and is part of an ongoing collaborative work with wildlife photographer, Michelle O’ Cuinneagain to create awareness of and raise funds for wildlife conservation.

While the vast majority of my work has focused on the beautiful mountains and beaches of the Western Cape, thirty years ago, my first exhibition at Groot Constantia consisted of a number of watercolour paintings of our African wildlife.
